With the uplifting scents and flavors of pine, sage and rosemary, the Zirbenz Whiskers is aromatherapy for the world-weary. The classic Satan's Whiskers cocktail gets an herbaceous update to become a deeply meditative drink that brings clarity, courage, and repose.
Zirbenz Stone Pine liqueur utilizes high-altitude Arolla Stone Pine fruit for an exquisite product that we combine with gin (we use Junipero), minty white vermouth (Dolin), along with sage and rosemary. Fresh tangelo juice provides the citrus backdrop to a cocktail that conjures the Alps, desert scrub, and Mediterranean cliff sides.
1/2 ounce Zirbenz Stone Pine Liqueur
1/2 ounce gin (Junipero)
1/2 ounce white vermouth (Dolin Blanc)
1 ounce fresh tangelo juice (fresh orange juice will work if tangelos are unavailable)
1 sage leaf
sprig rosemary, for garnish
Shake ingredients, including sage leaf, with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice (we like a single large cube). Garnish with rosemary sprig-- and rosemary flowers, if they are in bloom.
